Butte will be the host for both the Bob Cleverley 8-Man football all-star game and the first-ever neutral site 8-Man football state championship game at this season’s end.

Six Class C teams opened their season in the Mining City last weekend with the first game on Friday night, Aug. 24, at Bob Green Field, where Great Falls Central knocked off Twin Bridges, 46-0.

In the first game of a doubleheader Saturday at Naranche Stadium, Flint Creek took down Clark Fork, 50-16. In the night game, Choteau defeated Ennis, 34-28.

DURING THE Clark Fork Mountain Cats game against the Flint Creek Titans, the Cats were shut out in the first half where Titan Colby Manley dominated play, rushing for 77 yards. The Titans put up 36 of their 50 points by halftime.

In the second half, the Cats pushed back — putting their 16 points on the board compared to the Titans’ 14 points. Clark Fork quarterback Bryan Mask passed to Tyler Frances for a 13-yard touchdown, and Mask also threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Isaac Kovolsky. The Mountain Cats scored conversions after both touchdowns.
