Red Devils post top-5 finishes in Frenchtown

All season, the Noxon Red Devilís boys track had individual participants become a fixture in top-five finishes and those individuals continued to excel at the Montana High School Activities Association Western C Divisional Meet Thursday and Friday at Frenchtown High School.

Levi Brubaker captured first in the triple jump recording a distance and personal record of 42 feet, 9.5 inches in the event. Brubaker also finished third in the long jump and recorded another personal record by clearing a jump of 20 feet, 3 inches.

Edison VanVleet joined Brubaker with his top-five finishes. VanVleet finished in the top five in two events including the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles.

VanVleet set a personal record with a time of 17.86 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles to finish in fifth place and finished third in the 300-meter hurdles recording yet another personal record with a time of 44.98 seconds.

Rylan Weltz also cashed in on three top-five performances at Divisionals. Weltz finished fourth in the shot put recording a distance of 39 feet, 7.5 inches, second in discus recording a personal record of 134 feet, 3 inches and third in javelin setting another personal record with a throw of 156 feet, 4 inches.

Noxon High Schoolís Delaney Weltz continued to find success as the talent pool whittled its way down to the State contestants at the Montana High School Activities Association Class C event Thursday and Friday at Frenchtown High School.

Weltz finished third in shot put recording a throw of 31 feet, 2 inches.

Not to be outdone by Weltís accomplishments, Cory Brodmerkle finished fifth recording a personal record with a throw of 92 feet, 7 inches in the discus.

Hot Springs High School competitor Tyler Carr had one top-ten finish at the Western C Divisional Meet Thursday and Friday at Frenchtown High School.

Carr, who had recorded a total of seven top-five finishes in the 110-meter hurdles, continued his trend at Divisionals. Carr finished fourth recording a time of 17.68 seconds in the finals of the 110-meter hurdles.
