Young golfers take to the greens at Plains Golf Invitational

While the Masters event was going on in Georgia, young golfers in Plains were busy on the greens here at Plains. On Saturday, April 8, the Plains Golf Invitational was held at the Plains Golf course. A total of 11 schools participated in the annual event, including Plains, Thompson Falls, Libby, Bigfork, Seeley Swan, Ronan, Loyola, Florence, Eureka, Florence, and Clark Fork.

Ryggs Johnson of Libby took first place in the boys group with a score of 73. Dyan Meckman of Thompson Falls was four strokes behind in second place with a 77. The third place was a four-way tie with Alec Cole of Plains, Colton Stodghill of Bigfork, Fisher Niemeyer of Ronan, and Mckinley Nicholas of Seeley Swan all scoring 80.

Kylie Esh of Loyola was the top girls score with a 72. Katie Fagg of Loyola was 13 strokes behind in second place with an 85. Brooklyn Olson of Ronan was in third place with a score of 96.

The overall team scores for the boys had Thompson Falls in first place with a score of 362. Plains placed seventh with an overall score of 416. The girls overall team scores had Bigfork in first place with a score of 484.
